The Town of Sandwich was founded in 1639 and is on both sides of the Cape Cod Canal in Barnstable County. It is the oldest town on the Cape.
The beaches in the area stretch for miles and provide a stunning view. Recreational activities include golfing and tennis as well as hiking and biking along with swimming. The Heritage Theatres are comprised of six state of the art movie cinemas.
Historical points of interest include the Sandwich Glass Museum and the Heritage Museum & Gardens. You may also find the Hoxie House of interest. It was built in 1675 and is the oldest house on Cape Cod. There is also a Fish Hatchery which raises half a million fish to stock the state's many ponds.
